for the showers

So i have added and subtracted some stuff from the registry. As some of you may know we have some very good friends of ours moving in across the sidewalk from us.
They have a 15 month old little boy so we are looking forward to playdates and such.
SO one of the things i added would help us hang out outside with our new neighbors. Its basically a playpen for the yard.
It could be helpful to take places too once our baby is big enough for it.
Also some of you know i like to cook, so i found this book and it looks like lots of fun!
I have also been slightly anal retentive on the organization of the baby's room. I suppose thats normal, either way i wish it would rub off on me in every other room of our house. Well i found these organizers and i love them! Esspecially since i have clothes from size NB to 18 months. It would be helpful to make my life faster to have them. i know seems dumb i guess but i love it.

laughter is good like medicine!

Here is a pregnancy joke:

Brenda, pregnant with her first child, was paying a visit to her obstetrician's office. When the exam was over, she shyly began, "My husband wants me to ask you if its still okay..."

"I know, I know." the doctor said, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder, "I get asked that all the time. Sex is fine until late in the pregnancy."

"No, that's not it at all," Brenda confessed. "He wants to know if I can still mow the lawn."

Hope you got a giggle out of this!
I wish men could do this just for one day! Or just get their period once in their life, so they understand why that would be rediculous.

the amazing experience

We went to the concert and it was fantastic!!! Rock and roll shakes the belly! We had floor tickets...we thought that ment seats...no no. That ment mosh. So we had to sign a waver to not sue them if we got hurt...no no...so Jim talked to a security person and they found 5 people to switch seats with us so we didn't have to be on the floor. So they escorted us to the front row of the bottom bowl.OHMYGOSH!!! The best seats ever!! We couldn't have handpicked these seats if we tried. Then he told me that if i wanted to go to the bathroom and didn't want to tackle the stairs to let the security person know. So i did and then i got excorted BACKSTAGE to Pee!!! I got to walk right next to Three Days Grace right before they went on stage. i waved to them! It was amazing. Then when we were leaving husband was getting worried because there were 1000 people in the hallway so he grabbed my hand and yelled "Pregnant girl, water broke!" and the seas parted and we were out of the building in like 5 seconds! It was wonderful. Best concert EVER!!!

no more negative nellies!!!!

Ok, so my concert is tonight and I am super geeked!! and here is a list of htings t not say to me or any other pregnant woman. Becuase truthfully it is simply not encouraging, and at this stage of the process your inner doubt and fear comes to the surface and the comments that are not 100% positive simply feed into that. That just doesn't work for me.
- "my baby was in the hospital for weeks." (thanks for that)
- "I loved being pregnant but i don't want any more kids" (ok awsome!)
- " I hope your ready" (well either way theres no turning back!)
- " your face is a little yellow...are you having a boy?" (welli think i am having a boy but either way why did you have to tell me i look like crap today)
- " Your so cute" (ok so this one isn't bad but baby's are cute not big fat ugly yellow faced pregnant women. We want to hear about something else.)

Well i think that was all i heard in the last few days. AT least those are the things i can think of. Here's the thing. you feel gross and ugly so talk to me about your life and your insecurities and maybe i will feel better. Its liek goin gup to a person with achne and saying so have you tried Pro-Active? Or asking someone who has no legs to go for a brisk jog with you. Either way my advisement is stay positive! Very positive things not negative at all!
Have a nice day

my shower dress part 2

Ob-liv-ios-city - (the essence of being oblivious of how you effect others by your words)

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share with you some of the things people have felt they want to share with me when they don't even know me. For example...at work when people see the belly they feel it is an invitation to discuss my pregnancy with them. There are the general questions like -when are you due, is it a boy or girl, how are you feeling...and those just get aggravating because you know these people are simply nosy, they don't really care. My favorite example of Obliviousity is when people respond to my answers to the stupid questions...so they ask when are you due...i say June 1st and they say things along he lines of ohmygosh your huge and you still have so much longer to go. Seriously, never say "your huge" to a pregnant person you don't know. EVER! Or one of my favorites is "have you decided to breast feed?" from a perfect stranger...um don't ask people you don't know about their boobs. I actually had to argue with one customer about why i wanted to have an epidural. I will have an epidural and if you don't like it then you can have this baby for me. And June 1st is not that far away people. I think the worst case of Obliviousity was a few days ago. I don't wear my wedding ring right now because i am a little swollen, and a customer came up to me when i was wearing my fake one from Clair's and asked to see my ring. I said its fake...and she cut me off to say "well its nice, but you really should be married if your pregnant." Yes she did. Canyoubelieveit?? Unwanted advisement is something that people struggle with all the time. I a trying ot be more self aware of this. I do not want to be a victim of obliviously ever. I also hope you are not one of htose people who go up to pregnant people you don't know and touch their bellies. I mean if you really feel compelled at least ask. If you have a relationship with this person then still its always nice to be asked before people put their cold or sweaty hands all over you. You are growing htis thing that somehow has more value to you than anything every has in your life ever, and people want to touch you...oh no. no no no. People i am just trying to share wiht you some of the greatness that has come wiht being obviously pregnant. Along with all the other pleasantries that have come with my body changing and such. Well i hope you enjoyed this little dissertation. Have a nice day and remember don't ask or tell or touch unless you really do care about the person.
